The thought that goes into a present.

Last year we got our two eldest daughters desks.

They love playing school. Feeling grown-up. We knew they would love desks in their room.

So we got them. Assembled them in our bedroom. Kept them out of our room all day. Even
attempted to wrap them (not easy!). And then while they were downstairs we moved them into
position in their room. They were so excited.

I remember my dad doing something similar with a train set. He even made a table for the train set
to go on. Getting me to help him, telling me the table was for a lady down the road.

Thought can make all the difference.

What makes a thoughtful gift?

Meeting a need?

Cost? It requires sacrifice.

Thoughtfulness?

Time?

All of the above, and more probably.

I guess that’s why Jesus is so perfect.

He meets our deepest need. Forgiveness.

It cost him everything. His life.

He’d been thinking about it for a long time. From eternity.
