I love how God’s fingerprints are all over the Christmas story.

Not just fingerprints, but God at work – weaving, creating, conducting.

God working out his story.

First there’s the angel and Mary.

Then there’s Gabriel’s visit to Joseph. He needs reassuring.

But hang on a minute – there’s another birth going on too.

Zechariah and Elizabeth. Another angel.

John. The forerunner.

Mary’s visit to Elizabeth.

Caesar. A census. At just the right time to ensure that Mary is in Bethlehem.

Bethlehem? Why’s that important? Oh, I forgot. Micah, hundreds of years earlier predicted Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).

More angels. Shepherds.

Thousands of miles away. A star. Magi. A journey.

Gold. Frankincense. Myrrh. Prophetic gifts.

And there’s so much more. Genesis 3:15. Abraham. Isaiah.

All of these things, like a symphony. Starting gently, building, layer upon layer.

The conductor holding it all together in perfect balance. Ensuring everything bursts forth simultaneously in a triumphant crescendo.

Take a moment to enjoy the music.
