British Summer Time is finally coming to a close. We, of course, have been doing our research for you again this month, bringing you some of our favourite moments, music and all-round ‘top bits of the internet’, just in time for hibernation. Enjoy!

All the keen podders – that’s a thing, right? – out there mean we’re on the lookout for new podcasts. This last month we’ve been loving Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History. Lots of good things to consider. Thomas’ favourite is this one about Wilt Chamberlain.
Looking for a Saviour
Will Reagan seems to carry something truly special. He has a way of articulating deep longings of the heart, and not just the usual ones that fit into congregational worship songs. He writes with an honesty that this generation craves. No hype. Just passion. He released an EP with United Pursuit earlier this year; here’s the title track. It’s stunning.
Red Bull Storm Chase
This is jaw-dropping. If you’re a fan of adrenaline sports (or if you’re not at all, and just like being horrified by them), you will LOVE this. This is not a wind-down-at-the-end-of-the-day video – but it must just get you taking up a new hobby.
Dylan Moran lets you AMA
Reddit AMA’s are, obviously, the reason why the internet exists in the first place. It was only a matter of time until some genius decided to get comedian Dylan Moran on there. He opens with the line: “My name is Dylan Moran. I am 44. My elbow hurts.” Read it all here.
The Moth: Live Events
We know that this is probably preaching to the choir here, as it’s been around for a while, but we couldn’t resist talking about the storytelling podcast, The Moth, as it’s been high on our listen list this month – and if you haven’t clocked this one yet, it’s basically a podcast where people tell a true story from their lives, live. If you’re already a fan, one thing you may not have done yet is attend a Moth live event. There are two shows coming up in November and December in London – you can book here to experience the podcast live. We’re told it’s electrifying.

We love Buzzfeed for their insane number of pointless listicles, sure. Who doesn’t? But this feature on Baghdad is truly gripping – a peek behind the scenes, into everyday life in the world’s most terrorised city. Accompanied by incredible photos, this is an important reminder of what’s going on in parts of the world that are often forgotten.

There is no better way to lose yourself down the rabbit warren of the internet than to open Ann Friedman’s weekly email newsletter. This woman reads a LOT, and the resulting click-fest that awaits you, as you wade through political essays, articles on relationships, feminism, religion and art is absolutely addictive. She has a knack for selecting some of the most interesting (and sometimes downright esoteric) content on the internet. Well worth adding her to your 1,001 other subscriptions, because you’ll actually read this. Promise.
